Recording Studio Rates

Solomon Keal has a diploma in Recording Engineering from the Audio Institute of America.
Solomon can help you with a number of small studio projects; anything from transferring an old record to a CD, or creating a soundrack from an old movie, to recording your new album.
He has a small recording studio located in Lenhartsville PA. The studio is a 9 foot by 9 foot room in his house, so he can’t record entire bands, but he can easily record solo artists, and has even recorded a 7 part A Cappella group! (Yes, it was a tight fit!)

For transfer from vinyl or tape to CD:
$10/hour for play/record process
$20/hour for audio engineering, audio sweetening, digital editing, etc.
$10/hour for final mastering and finishing of the project
Plus cost of materials (CDRs, jewel cases)
(All times are rounded up to the nearest 1/2 hour)
For an hour long tape or record, this will probably cost you about $50.00.

For recording projects and album production:
$15/hour for recording/studio time
$20/hour for audio engineering, mixing, audio sweetening, digital editing, etc.
$10/hour for final mastering and finishing of the project
Plus cost of materials (CDRs, jewel cases)
You're probably looking at an average cost of somewhere between $500.00 and $1000.00.

Booking Rates

Solomon Keal has performed his music for weddings, dinners, receptions, conferences, charity events, open mic nights, coffeeshops, and concerts.
You can book Solomon Keal to perform his solo piano music for anywhere from $100.00 (for a simple background music gig) to $500.00 (for a full-blown concert.)
Rates are always negotiable.

Licensing Rates

To get a general sense, you should be able to license Solomon’s music using the following guide-lines:
- For $10.00 per song you can get unlimited use of Solomon's music as background music for your personal websites.
- For a rate of $100.00 per year, you can have on-going use of Solomon’s music in your non-profit media projects, such as church sermon recordings.
- For a "for profit" project, such as a CD or DVD project, Solomon charges 3 cents per minute per disc for usage of his music in the project. So, for example, if you would like to use 10 minutes worth of Solomon’s music on a DVD, and you are making 1000 DVDs, it would cost you $300.00.

Piano Lesson Rates

Solomon Keal teaches non-traditional piano lessons out of his home in Lenhartsville PA. In his lessons Solomon covers Piano Basics, Music Theory, Composition, Improvisation, and Ear Training, with a focus on popular music including new age, blues and jazz. Solomon will structure his lessons around what YOU want to learn.
There are no age restrictions. Start as a child or an adult.
Lessons are weekly, and are $12.50 for a half an hour.

Commission Rates

You can commission Solomon Keal to do a number of music projects for you, for $20.00 an hour. Some of the things you could hire Solomon to do include:
- Write (compose) a song.
- Transcribe a song to sheet music.
- Work on an album concept.
- Score a film project, or documentary.

Consulting Rates

Solomon Keal has a diploma in Audio Engineering from the Audio Institute of America
He has set up his own recording studio, and has recorded and mastered three albums.
Solomon is a composer and songwriter, having composed over 50 piano pieces, and written over a dozen songs.
He also has experience in marketing music online.
For consulting work Solomon hires himself out at $15/hour.
